ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team continued their dominant 2012 fall season with a 9-0 victory at Anderson (Ind.) University.
The day began with a sweep in doubles play, led by Rachael Heiniger and Kristen Futrell taking an 8-0 victory in No. 3-doubles. Katie Wilson teamed with Kim Mella for an 8-1 win in No. 2-doubles while Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson earned an 8-3 win in No. 1-doubles.
The Wildcats continued their success with six easy wins in singles play. Meyering (No. 3-singles) and Futrell (No. 4-singles) both won by scores of 6-0, 6-0 to lead IWU. Heiniger (No. 1-singles) won 6-2, 6-1 and Katie Wilson (No. 2-singles) claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Rounding out the day was Sarah Richert (No. 5-singles) with a 6-3, 6-1 win and Diane Jones (No. 6-singles) completing a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Indiana Wesleyan improves to 5-0 during the fall season and will next play on Saturday at Grace (Ind.) College in Crossroads League action. The match begins at 11 a.m.
