MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University men's tennis destroyed IU-East in the fall schedule regular season finale at the Sutter Tennis Center.
The Wildcats had little issue in a 9-0 victory over the Red Wolves as IWU prepares for next week's Crossroads League Tournament. The Wildcats wrap up the fall regular season with an impressive 12-1 mark.
Indiana Wesleyan dominated from the beginning in a three-match doubles sweep. Kyle Johnson and Alex McMahan won 8-3 in No. 1-singles, Brandon Dubuque and Leonard Mathews swept No. 2-doubles 8-0, and Brooks Ayers and Daniel Stoddard finished with an 8-1 victory in No. 3-singles.
The strong play from doubles carried over into singles play.
Johnson (6-0, 6-1) won No. 1-singles, Mathews (6-2, 6-2) earned a point in No. 2-singles, Dubuque (6-0, 6-0) swept through No. 3-singles, Ayers (6-0, 6-0) had no troubles in No. 4-singles, Daniel Smith (6-0, 6-1) was victorious in No. 5-singles, and Kamen Tabor (6-2, 6-1) claimed the win in No. 6-singles.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play on Tuesday at home against Bethel (Ind.) College in the Crossroads League Tournament First Round.
