MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team completed the fall regular season undefeated following a 7-2 victory over Cedarville (Ohio) University on Friday at the Sutter Tennis Center.
Indiana Wesleyan (12-0) finishes the fall regular season with a perfect 12-0 season. IWU begins Crossroads League postseason play on Tuesday to wrap up the fall schedule.
The Wildcats claimed two of three doubles points for the early advantage. Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson won 8-1 in No. 1-doubles while Rachael Heiniger and Kristen Futrell also earned an 8-1 victory in No. 2-doubles. The No. 3-doubles tandem of Kim Reisdorf and Sara Lyons dropped a close 7-9 decision.
In singles play, Indiana Wesleyan won the top five matches. Heiniger (6-0, 6-1) won No. 1-singles, Meyering (6-0, 6-0) cruised in No. 2-singles, Lauren Wilson (6-0, 6-0) did not drop a game in No. 3-singles, Kim Mella (6-1, 6-2) easily won in No. 4-singles, and Sarah Richert (6-2, 6-2) earned the point in No. 6-singles. Diane Jones (6-7, 6-4, 7-10) lost in the No. 6 competition.
Indiana Wesleyan next plays Huntington (Ind.) University on Tuesday at the Sutter Tennis Center in the Crossroads League Tournament First Round.
