MARION, Ind. -- The NAIA released its women's tennis national championship bracket this afternoon and Indiana Wesleyan University earned the No. 15-seed in the 24-team field.
Indiana Wesleyan will battle No. 18-seed Robert Morris (Ill.) College in the NAIA First Round on Tuesday, May 15 in Mobile, Alabama. The match begins at 10 a.m. ET.
The two teams met earlier this season on April 13 at the Sutter Tennis Center in a highly competitive match. Indiana Wesleyan earned the 5-4 win. IWU won 2-of-3 doubles matches before splitting the singles competitions for the match victory.
The winner of the match will advance to the NAIA Second Round on Wednesday, May 16 against No. 2-seed Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University. Fresno Pacific was one of eight schools to earn first round byes.
Indiana Wesleyan is one of four programs to have made the field every year since the championship moved to a team format in 2000. The three others programs making a record 13th appearance are No.1-seed Auburn (Ala.) University-Montgomery, No. 5-seed Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University, and No. 6-seed Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University.
The Wildcats are 22-2 this season and were ranked No. 16 in the final NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top-25 Poll.
