MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University men's tennis lost their first match of the season 8-1 to University of Northwestern Ohio on a very hot Friday at the Sutter Tennis Center.
The lone point for the Wildcats came from freshman No. 1-singles player Kyle Johnson. He won the three set match by scores of 6-4, 2-6, 10-4. Junior Brooks Ayers dropped a hard fought three set match 1-6, 7-6, 8-10 in No. 3 action.
The three doubles teams all lost as Indiana Wesleyan quickly fell in the hole 3-0. Johnson and Adam Wroughton lost 8-4 in No. 1-doubles, Ayers and Daniel Stoddard also dropped an 8-4 decision in No. 2-doubles while the team of Luke Montgomery and Luke Hornett dropped an 8-3 match in No. 3-doubles.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play on Tuesday vs. MCC rival Grace (Ind.) College at the Sutter Tennis Center.
