LEBANON, Tenn. -- Indiana Wesleyan University softball collected their first win of 2010 during a doubleheader split with Cumberland (Tenn.) University in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Cumberland earned the victory in game one with an 8-1 decision while Indiana Wesleyan pulled out a 1-0 win for the split.

Senior shortstop Katie Berkemeier was 1-for-3 with the lone Wildcat RBI in the first game. Starting pitcher Abbie Forman was also 1-for-3 with a run scored. Forman allowed five runs in four innings of work with eight strikeouts.

In game two, junior starting pitcher Katie Hall pitched a complete game shutout. Hall scattered five hits and walked just one. She struck out six in the victory.

The lone run of the game came in the top of the seventh inning.

Left fielder Kelsey Decker opened the inning with a single to center field and then she advanced to second on a passed ball. The next two batters failed to advance Decker and Katie Brummett came off the bench to pinch hit. She singled to left to plate Decker for the eventual winning run.

Indiana Wesleyan is now 1-3 this season while Cumberland is 3-1.
