SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana Wesleyan Softball spent Good Friday in Spring Arbor taking on the Cougars in an afternoon doubleheader. The Wildcats outlasted SAU in a low scoring affair in game 1, 1-0. In the second game, IWU powered past Spring Arbor with 11 runs.
Isabelle Beidelschies pitched 7 scoreless innings in game 1 with 3 strikeouts. The IWU offense supplied the only run in the 4th inning when
Sara Ruble doubled to bring home
Malayni Clemens.
The style of game flipped in game 2 as the bats came alive.
Maddie Martin got the first RBI for IWU in the 1st inning. In the 3rd inning, Martin brought home the first of 6 runs.

Malayni Clemens, and
Sara Ruble each registered an RBI in the inning and the Wildcats led 7-0. The Cougars scored a run in the bottom of the 4th inning but IWU brought home 4 in the next inning to extend their lead. SAU brought home another runner in the 5th but it wasn't enough to break the run rule and IWU won 11-2 after 5 innings.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Sara Ruble brought home to the only run of the game in the 4th inning with a double to center field that allowed Malayni Clemens to score from 2nd base.
- Isabelle Beidelschies pitched a gem, going all 7 innings without allowing a run for SAU.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- IWU started the second game with 1 run in the 1st frame by way of a Maddie Martin single that drove home Morgan Yeater.
- Martin gained another RBI in the 3rd inning to push the lead to 2-0. Leah May singled to bring home Yeater then Malayni Clemens singled to bring home Martin. To finish the scoring in the frame, Sara Ruble also singled and drove home both May and Clemens.
- Spring Arbor cut into the lead by 1 with a run in the 4th inning.
- With the bases loaded in the 5th, Danica Fuller tripled to extend the advantage to 10-1. Whitney Waddell brought home Fuller in the next at-bat with a single.
- The Cougars scored once more in the bottom of the 5th but IWU was winning by enough runs to force the run rule win.
