UPLAND, Ind. - The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team fell 3-0 to Taylor (Ind.) University in the MCC Tournament Championship match on Saturday in Upland, Indiana.
The Trojans won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-15.
With the win, Taylor captures their second consecutive MCC Tournament Championship. The Wildcats returned to the MCC Championship after missing the tournament last season. IWU had won the previous seven MCC Tournament titles dating from 2002-2008.
Freshman Rae Brandes led he Wildcats with 13 kills while also contributing eight digs and junior middle hitter Peyton Thompson added seven kills and three block assists. Sophomore setter Yui Iwase led Indiana Wesleyan with 26 assists and junior libero Kelsey Masuda had a team-high 11 digs in the loss.
Indiana Wesleyan falls to 23-11 on the season while No. 10-ranked Taylor improves to 34-6.
