MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men's tennis team won again in the Mid-Central College Conference with an 8-1 win over visiting Bethel (Ind.) College on Tuesday afternoon at the Sutter Tennis Center.
The win pushes the Wildcats to 5-0 in MCC play and 5-1 overall. The Pilots are now 5-3 this season and 4-2 in conference action.
Indiana Wesleyan opened the match with three points in doubles play.
Senior Luke Wright and junior Ben Bischoff captured an 8-3 win in No. 1-doubles action while junior Carson VandenBossche and sophomore Matt Pedersen won 8-4 in No. 2 play. Sophomore Micah May and freshman Luke Montgomery completed the doubles sweep with a 9-8 (8-6) win in the No. 3 battle.
Indiana Wesleyan obtained five of six points in singles play.
No. 1 Pedersen (6-3, 7-5), No. 2 Bischoff (6-0, retire), No. 3 VandenBossche (6-3, 6-1), No. 4 Wright (6-4, 7-6) and No. 5 May (6-1, 6-1) all earned a point for the Wildcats.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, as the Wildcats play Marian College in Indianapolis, Indiana.
