MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women's tennis team gained their fourth straight 9-0 win on Tuesday afternoon over Bethel (Ind.) College at the Sutter Tennis Center.
The win pushed the Wildcats record to 7-0 this season, all in Mid-Central College Conference play. The Pilots tumble to 4-5 and 3-4 in conference action.
Sophomores Lisa Massey and Eva Delk won 8-6 in No. 1-doubles and the No. 2 team of senior Julia Hedgebeth and sophomore Caitlin McGuire earned an 8-3 victory. The No. 3 tandem of senior Laura Helm and junior Courtney Kooyers completed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win.
Indiana Wesleyan cruised through singles play with straight set victories in all six matches.
Hedgebeth (6-1, def.), Massey (7-6, 6-1), Delk (7-6, 6-1), McGuire (6-4, 6-4), Kooyers (6-1, 6-0) and Helm (6-2, 6-1) earned points in singles competition for the Wildcats.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to the court at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, as the Wildcats host University of Findlay (Ohio).
