MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University won their third straight shutout in women's tennis action with a 9-0 victory over visiting Marian (Ind.) College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Wildcats swept doubles play with sophomores Lisa Massey and Eva Delk winning 8-2 in No. 1-doubles, senior Julia Hedgebeth and sophomore Caitlin McGuire earning an 8-6 win in No. 2 play and senior Laura Helm along with junior Courtney Kooyers capturing an 8-3 in No. 3-doubles.
Indiana Wesleyan cruised through singles play as Hedgebeth (6-0, 6-1), Massey (6-1, 6-2), Delk (7-5, 6-2), McGuire (6-0, 6-0), Kooyers (6-2, 6-4) and Helm (6-1, 6-3) did not drop a set.
IWU improves to 6-0 this season with all six wins coming in Mid-Central College Conference action.
The Wildcats next compete at the ITA Regional Tournament being held in Cedarville, Ohio from September 18-20.
