Marion, Ind. --The Indiana Wesleyan University women?s tennis team defeated Spring Arbor on Tuesday evening with a score of 8-1. This puts the Wildcat?s record at 2-0 for the season and 1-0 in the MCC.
The Wildcat?s number one singles? player Julie Hedgebeth defeated Amy Smith in straight sets 6-4, 6-0. IWU?s number two Eva Delk defeated Rachel Kafader not surrendering a game in either set 6-0, 6-0.
The Wildcat?s number four Brittany Raymond beat Lauren Crawford in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. In the number five spot, Lisa Massey defeated Karley Beebe also not surrendering a game. Kristi Haddad wrapped up the win for the Wildcats with a win over Jaci Holsem 6-2, 6-1.
The doubles team of Raymond and Haddad defeated Smith and Kafader 8-2. Delk and Massey defeated Mercer and Crawford also with a score of 8-2. Kooyers and Helm finished off the sweep with an 8-1 win over Holsem and Beebe.
The Wildcats will play host to Franklin College at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5.
