Zach Hobson - PhD, LAT, ATC

Zach Hobson joined the Indiana Wesleyan University Athletic Training staff in the spring of 2022, before being promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2022. Hobson currently provides medical services to the IWU Volleyball, Softball, and Men's Cross Country teams.

Prior to arriving at IWU, Zach worked as the Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA. During his time at Oglethorpe, he provided medical services to the Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Lacrosse programs.

Hobson completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Indiana Wesleyan University. He then went on to attain a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from the Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, Zach served as a graduate teaching and research assistant in the Department of Kinesiology, as well as a preceptor in the undergraduate Athletic Training program. In the fall of 2021, Hobson completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Educational Leadership through Liberty University.

Zach is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Indiana Athletic Trainers Association. He holds National Athletic Training Certification through the Board of Certification and maintains Athletic Training licensure in the State of Indiana. Hobson serves as a preceptor in the IWU Master of Science Athletic Training program and holds additional certifications in CPR/AED/First-Aid, Graston Technique, and Applied Functional Science (CAFS).

Zach enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and three daughters, Nora, Emma, and Anna. His family enjoys going on hikes, traveling, and trying new restaurants. Zach and his family attend Harvest Bible Chapel in Marion, IN.
