Janae Gibson

Janae Gibson will enter her first season on Coach Ethan Whaley’s staff at Indiana Wesleyan in 2018-19.

Prior to joining the Wildcat women’s basketball coaching staff, Gibson served as the Director of Football Operations for the inaugural IWU football team under Head Coach, Jordan Langs. 

Janae graduated Cum Laude in 2017 with her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.  During her tenure at GVSU, she played basketball and softball for the Lakers.  On the hardcourt, during her junior year, she led the Lakers to an NCAA Final Four berth.  She was named “Most Outstanding Player” in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.  During her senior campaign, Janae was named First Team All-GLIAC, as she led the team in scoring, assists, and rebounding. The Lakers finished 24-8 that year and again qualified for the NCAA tournament.  Additionally, during her junior year, she was the centerfielder and lead-off hitter on a Laker team that made it to the NCAA College World Series.  She was named All-GLIAC honorable mention this year and second team All-GLIAC her senior season, as her team won the GLIAC tournament.

Janae was a four-year letter winner in basketball and softball at Climax-Scotts High School in Climax, Michigan. The Lady Panther basketball team made it to the State semi-finals her senior year.

Gibson and her husband, Kirk, reside in Marion.
