MARION, Ind. - No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Soccer welcomed the University of Science & Arts (Okla.) on Thursday for the first ever matchup between the teams. The Wildcats outdid the Drovers and came away with the 1-0 victory behind Alyssa Hamann's lone goal in the first half. IWU continues to remain unbeaten and will go on the road to the University of Tennessee Southern this Saturday.
It was a tight contest between two of the top teams in the NAIA as each team had only 1 shot each in the first 20 minutes of action. The Wildcats pulled ahead when senior Alyssa Hamann scored in the 23rd minute after stealing it away from the feet of the goalkeeper inside the box. IWU just did outshoot their opponents 3 to 2 in the first half and followed with the exact same number in the second half. Avery Sluss and the defense held strong again, posting their third straight shutout.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Alyssa Hamann broke the scoreless drought in the 23rd minute of the first half to give IWU a 1-0 lead. This is Hamann's 4th goal in the last two games.
- Avery Sluss made her lone save on her only opportunity in the first half to keep the Drovers scoreless.
- Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half and IWU held no. 20 USAO to only 2 shots in the period.
