MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Softball looked to sweep the season series with Bethel University on Tuesday afternoon, winning 8-0 in game one before weather forced the teams to leave the field before game two could start. No date has officially been set for the finish as of yet.
The Wildcats started very strong with 6 runs in the 1st inning.

Danica Fuller each recorded an RBI in the frame for IWU. Fuller brought in another run in the 3rd inning to extend the lead to 7. The final run came in the top of the 5th as Fuller drove home
Leah May for the second time in the game. The Wildcats finished the game in the 5th with an 8-0 result.
Avery Toole pitched another gem, tying her career-high in strikeouts with 8 while only allowing 2 hits.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Brylee Bilger doubled in the 1st to score the first run of the game. Courtney Thomas followed with a single to the outfield that scored Maddie Martin from 3rd base. Bilger scored on an opportunity created by a steal by Thomas. Two more runs came in to score when Sara Ruble doubled down the left field line. Danica Fuller drove in Ruble in the ensuing at-bat to make the score 6-0 after the 1st inning.
- Fuller collected another RBI in the 3rd inning with a batted ball that scored Leah May.
- The Wildcats picked up their 8th run in the 5th when Danica Fuller hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Leah May to come home.
- Avery Toole went 4 innings with no runs allowed and tied her career-high in strikeouts with 8, 7 of which were missed swings.
