Indiana Wesleyan Comes In at No. 2 in Learfield Directors' Cup Winter Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Indiana Wesleyan Athletics sits in second place in the winter standings of the 2025-26 NAIA LEARFIELD Directors' Cup. The Wildcats had 425 points after the fall and will head into the spring with 851 points. Last year, IWU had 792.25 points at the conclusion of winter sports and went on to claim the department's seventh consecutive top-five finish.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in the NAIA winter championships of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's bowling, men's and women's swim & dive, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's wrestling, competitive cheer, and competitive dance.

Indiana Wesleyan is trailing No. 1 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) by 139.5 points. The Wildcats hold a 97-point advantage over No. 3 Marian University. Competitive cheer brought in the department's highest numbers, recording 90 points after their second-place finish at the NAIA National Championships. Women's indoor track & field tallied 77.5 points with their fourth-place finish, while men's indoor track & field was just behind with 73.5. Both men's and women's basketball tallied 64 points, and women's swim & dive earned 57 points.

"We are incredibly proud of our winter teams," said Hannah Miller, Interim Director of Athletics. "It is a blessing to see our teams live out our mission to both pursue competitive excellence and to influence others for Christ at the national level."

The Wildcats are joined by one other Crossroads League team in the Top 3 and five other programs in the Top 50 following winter sports.
  • No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan University
  • No. 3 Marian University
  • No. 15 Taylor University
