Men's Basketball Earns Six All-League Honors; Bontrager Named Player of the Year

JACKSON, Mich. - Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball earned six Crossroads League awards Wednesday. Caedmon Bontrager was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year. DJ Moore joined him on the All-League First Team, along with a spot on the All-Defensive Team. Isaac Andrews was voted to the All-League Second Team, and Julius Gizzi also earned spots on the All-League Honorable Mention Team as well as the All-Freshman Team.

“Individual awards are always a reflection of team success," said Head Coach Greg Tonagel. “This team has really grown throughout the year and is peaking at the right time.”

CAEDMON BONTRAGER

PLAYER OF THE YEAR | FIRST TEAM

Caedmon Bontrager was named the 2025-26 Crossroads League Player of the Year. He is the first Wildcat to earn the honor since Seth Maxwell in 2021-22.

In 18 games, he led the league with 612 points, 222 made field goals, and 144 made free-throws. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native finished 3rd in the conference with 284 total rebounds at 9.5 rebounds per game and was 4th with 32 blocks.

 

 

 

DJ MOORE 

FIRST TEAM | ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM

DJ Moore was named to the All-Crossroads League First Team and the All-Defensive Team for the first time in his career. In 18 league games, he led the conference dishing out 168 assists, swiping 50 steals and shooting 88.6% from the free throw line. The Columbus, Ohio native ranked Top 10 with 93 made free throws, and a 2.4 assist-to-turnover.

ISAAC ANDREWS 

SECOND TEAM

Isaac Andrews earns his first career All-League Second Team honor after being named to the All-Freshman Team last year. He played in 18 league games this season and ranked second in the conference with 45 made three-pointers. The Selma, Ind. native was also eighth in the league with a 2.6 assist-to-turnover and ninth after shooting 41.3% from deep.

 

 

 

 

JULIUS GIZZI

HONORABLE MENTION | ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

Julius Gizzi made an immediate impact and was named an All-League Honorable Mention and to the All-Freshman Team. He played in 18 league games this season and ranked third in the conference shooting 90.2% from the free-throw line. The New Palestine, Ind. native finished Top 20 with 237 points, 84 made field goals, and a 37.7% from three.
