Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 6 Men's Soccer Collects Sixth Straight Win

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan Men's Soccer hit the road for an afternoon match against Huntington University on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the Wildcats scored thrice after a Huntington goal to win 3-1. The Wildcats remain unbeaten in Crossroads play and will play Goshen on October 10th.

IWU pelted the Huntington defense throughout the first half with shots but were unable to find the net. They outshot the Foresters 10-0 and recorded 4 corner kicks in the opening period. Despite continuing the pressure in the second half, IWU went down 1-0 on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute. Mariano Chaves came through to tie it in the 68th minute, assisted by Camilo Pereda for the second straight game. Chaves put in the game winning goal in the 73rd minute which tied him with Yarek Carnegie for the team lead in goals on the season. However, Carnegie broke that tie in the 87th minute to put the final touches on the match.
