SPRING ARBOR, MI. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball handed Spring Arbor their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Cougars 3-1 after dropping the first set. The Wildcats were lead by senior Marissa Mullins and freshman Shae Williams who combined for 29 kills, 12 digs, and 6 blocks. SAU entered the match winning their first 13 matches of the season with wins over No. 16 Marian, RV Rio Grande, and RV Cornerstone. The Wildcats earned their second NAIA Top-25 win after facing five ranked teams in their first nine matches.

MATCH VITALS
- Spring Arbor stormed out of the gates in set one, scoring the first 8 points of the match which featured 5 attack errors from the Wildcats and 2 service aces from the Cougars. IWU clawed their way back into the set and got within 3 points at 21-18. The teams traded points the rest of the way with SAU taking set one 25-21.
- Indiana Wesleyan got off to the fast start in set two, taking a 13-4 lead. The home team got within 5 points several times, but never threatened the red and gray as they took the set 25-18.
- SAU went up 11-6 in set three, and eventually led 21-17. IWU went on an 8-0 run to steal the set. The run featured 3 straight service aces from Cadee Notter and 3 kills from Shae Williams.
- After back and forth play to begin the fourth set, a 5-1 run from the Wildcats gave them just enough room to take the set 25-20 after neither side made a sizable run the rest of the way.
