PREVIEW: NO. 6 FOOTBALL WELCOMES SAINT XAVIER TO WILDCAT STADIUM

MARION, IND.  – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Wesleyan football team welcomes Saint Xavier to Wildcat Stadium on Saturday night under the lights. The Wildcats look to bounce back from a season-opening loss last week, while the Cougars come to Marion for their first game of the season.

  • The two teams have squared off each of the last two seasons, with IWU coming away with victory both times.
 
WILDCAT LEADERS | 2025 SEASON STATS
  • Ryan Whitwell led the rushing attack last week after posting 119 yards on 25 attempts with a touchdown. Cameron Morrison added 45 yards on 12 attempts.
  • Arjun Lothe threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns while completing 19-of-42 attempts. He also recorded a rushing touchdown.
  • Braxton Myers hauled in 5 catches for 133 yards, winning MSFA Mideast Offensive Player of the Week. Isaac Smith had 8 receptions for 87 yards with a score.
  • Vincie Solano was named MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine tackles, grabbing one interception, along with a pass breakup and a tackle for loss.
  • Josh Clifton scored seven points by going a perfect 4-for-4 on PAT's with a 31-yard field-goal, earning MSFA Mideast Special Teams Player of the Week.
 
COUGAR LEADERS | 2024 SEASON STATS
  • Tyreese Lee will be the lead running back the Cougars this season. He totaled 183 yards on 38 carries in 2024, averaging 4.8 yards per attempt.
  • Dominic D'Ambrosio gets the start at quarterback for SXU after backing up three-year starter Stuart Ross. D'Ambrosio played in 7 games last year, completing 26 passes for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns.
  • Ronnie Foster returns for his grad year as the Cougars' top receiver. He finished last season with 41 catches, 559 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
  • Chris Swayne returns at linebacker after leading the defense last year with a team-high 100 tackles and 4 interceptions.
  • Terry Elias Jr. was second on the team in 2024 with 86 tackles and a team-best 11 tackles for loss.
