Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARION, Ind. – No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan Softball played two games against Saint Francis splitting the results. Game 1 saw the Wildcats dominate with a 13-0 win in 5 innings. Saint Francis battled back in the second game coming away with the 12-10 win over IWU.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Jordyn Ball started and finished the game for the Wildcats not allowing a run and earning 6 strikeouts along the way.
• IWU would only score in two innings, 7 runs in the 2nd and 6 runs in the 3rd.
• Ella Phillips walked with the bases loaded to bring home the first run of the game. Maddie Martin hit a SAC FLY to score one more and Morgan Yeater came up with the bases loaded once again and hit a 2 RBI single to right field. Abby Harvey doubled right after to score both Whitney Waddell and Yeater. The final run of the inning came when Sadie Harding was HBP with the bases loaded to score Harvey.
• The 3rd inning started with a walk, and two singles to load the bases. Yeater came through again with a single that scored 2 more. Brylee Bilger joined the RBI party with 2 of her own on a double. Harding followed suit doubling and scoring 2 to bring the lead to 13-0.
• Ball shut down the Cougars and IWU came away with the win.

 

 

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• The offense came fast and furious for both teams as 12 of the 14 half innings saw at least 1 run tallied.
• USF scored 4 to start the game but the Wildcats answered back as Courtney Thomas and Harding singled back to back, each scoring one run.
• Down 5-2 going into the bottom of the 2nd, Whitney Waddell singled to get on base and would come around to score after multiple wild pitches. Harvey doubled again to score Yeater and Thomas batted her home after Bilger advanced her to third. The inning ended with the game tied at 5.
• The 3rd inning saw the Cougars score 3 more and Indiana Wesleyan score 1 to counter. That run came in when Sara Ruble singled to score Harding who was on second base.
• From the 4th inning on, Saint Francis scored 1 run in each of the last four innings. IWU tied the game once more in the bottom of the 4th with 3 runs coming by way of a Harding 2 RBI single and a ball put in play by Martin that scored 1 run.
• Phillips earned 1 more RBI in the bottom of the 6th but no comeback could be completed.
