NO. 8 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CONCLUDES REGULAR SEASON WITH SWEEP OF GOSHEN

MARION, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Women's Volleyball swept Goshen in straight sets on Wednesday night, winning 25-15, 25-14, 25-17 to wrap up the regular season. The Wildcats posted a .323 attack percentage, led by a balanced offensive effort. Shae Williams led the effort with 14 kills while hitting .875. Indiana Wesleyan will be the #1 seed in the Crossroads League Tournament and have home court advantage throughout the tournament. Crossroads League Tournament play will begin on Saturday at 5:00 PM with the Wildcats hosting Grace.

SET ONE

  • The teams traded points early, with the score tied at 11-11 after an attack error by Goshen.  
  • Indiana Wesleyan gained momentum with a 6-0 run, highlighted by kills from Shae Williams and Eva Joldersma, reaching a 16-12 advantage. 
  • Following a GC timeout, The red and grey extended their lead with another 4-0 stretch, including two more kills by Williams, moving ahead 20-15.      
  • Indiana Wesleyan closed the set on a decisive 5-0 run, capitalizing on three attack errors by the Leafs, to secure a 25-15 victory.  
 

SET TWO 

  • The Wildcats opened with a 5-1 run, fueled by kills from Jessica Ickes and Eva Joldersma.  
  • They extended the lead to 10-3 with consecutive kills by Williams, prompting a Leafs timeout.  
  • Indiana Wesleyan maintained momentum with a service ace from Cadee Notter, pushing the advantage to 17-5.  
  • The Wildcats closed the set 25-14 on a kill by Ava Barnes.  
 

SET THREE 

  • IWU opened with a balanced attack, gaining an early 11-6 advantage highlighted by multiple kills from Marissa Mullins.   
  • GC closed the gap to 12-12 with a run featuring a service ace at the 11th point.  
  • Post-timeout, Indiana Wesleyan responded with a 6-1 spurt, extending their lead to 18-13, driven by consecutive kills from Williams.  
  •  The Wildcats capitalized on MapleLeafs errors to close out the set 25-17, with Alex Lloyd sealing the win with a final kill.
