NO. 10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS IN TOP 25 MATCHUP

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan Women's Basketball fell to Indiana Tech, 72-69, despite outscoring the home team 29-22 in the third quarter and scoring 53 points in the paint.

FIRST QUARTER

  • Indiana Wesleyan opened with a 6–3 run, highlighted by Ellie Kelleher's layup and three-pointer at the 8:11 mark.
  • Indiana Tech responded with a 7–0 sequence, capped by a free throw at 5:16, to take an 8–6 lead.
  • A pivotal three-pointer at 3:09 pushed Indiana Tech's lead to 13–9.
  • Indiana Tech led 17–13 at the end of the first quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

  • IT opened with a defensive edge, forcing the Wildcats into four turnovers while converting a key 3-pointer  at 8:31.
  • Both teams exchanged scoring in the paint, with Addi Hovey contributing two layups for the red and grey, narrowing the gap to 23–21.
  • The Warriors surged ahead with a scoring burst, highlighted by a jumper at 1:18, extending the lead.
  • The quarter concluded with both sides deadlocked at 53 after Emily Mattingly's 3-pointer at the buzzer.
THIRD QUARTER
  • IWU initiated a comeback, overcoming a 9-point deficit at 8:07 with a balanced scoring effort in the paint.
  • Emily Mattingly and Addi Hovey combined for consecutive scores to tie the game at 38–38 with 5:45 remaining.

  • Indiana Tech took the lead at 00:25 with a 3-pointer, moving the score to 71–69.  
  • The Warriors secured the win with a free throw, concluding the game at 72–69.
