INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Soccer traveled down to Indianapolis to take on top 5 ranked opponent No. 3 Marian for the top spot in the Crossroads League. The two NAIA top 10 teams were evenly matched and played a tight game. The first half commenced with the Wildcats applying early pressure, as Sydney Couch took two wide shots at the goal. VanderArk also tested Marian's defense with a shot that was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. Defensively, Avery Sluss made crucial saves to keep the Knights off the board. Despite multiple attempts from both teams, the period concluded scoreless, with the Wildcats and Marian locked in a 0-0 tie. MU took the 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute, which would turn out to be the lone goal of the match. IWU played well defensively the rest of the way but the offense was unable to capitalize on its attacks.
