NO. 9 MEN'S SOCCER BEATS NO. 23 MARIAN IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

MARION, Ind. - No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan Men's Soccer helped celebrate Homecoming weekend as they played their final regular season home match against No. 23 Marian University on Saturday afternoon. The first half began with IWU starting strong and putting pressure on the Knights. In the 6th minute, Taha Houssni scored the opening goal, assisted by Cole Little, marking Houssni's fourth goal of the season and second in as many games. Marian attempted to respond, but Kadin Wolfe made four crucial saves in the first half, including an incredible penalty kick save in the 14th minute, maintaining the advantage for the Wildcats. The second half began with the IWU maintaining their lead while facing increased pressure from MU. After a series of corner kicks by the Knights, the red and gray's defense, anchored by Wolfe, remained steadfast, including a notable save at the 76th minute. The Wildcats held strong and came away with another top 25 matchup victory.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Taha Houssni provided the first and only goal of the match after a Cole Little cross in the 6th minute of action.
  • Marian had a chance to even the score in the 14th minute of play but senior Kadin Wolfe made a great save to maintain the 1-0 advantage.
  • IWU held strong in the second half, rejecting every offensive attack from MU.
