NO. 5 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL'S CROSSROADS LEAGUE WIN STREAK END WITH LOSS TO NO. 12 MVNU

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Mount Vernon Nazarene defeated Indiana Wesleyan in straight sets on Wednesday at Ariel Arena, securing the match with scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-18. The Wildcats felt the loss of two time NAIA Setter of the Year Abbigail Porter, dropping their first Crossroads League match since 2022, the win streak lasted 55 matches.

SET ONE

  • MVNU quickly established control with a 6-1 advantage.
  • The Wildcats rallied to close the gap to 8-6, utilizing blocks from Marissa Mullins and Eva Joldersma to force errors.

SET TWO 

  • Indiana Wesleyan opened the set with a strong start, taking a 6-3 lead following consecutive errors by MVNU.  
  • The Cougars responded with a dominant 6-0 run, including four service aces, to move ahead 14-8.  
  • IWU rallied back to tie the score at 15-15, sparked by a service ace from Camaya Murry
  • MVNU closed the set with 3-0 run, securing a 25-23 victory.
 

SET THREE 

  • MVNU surged to an early 4-0 lead, capitalizing on two attack errors by the red and gray.  
  • IWU trimmed the deficit to 13-12 following a service ace by Cadee Notter, prompting a timeout from MVNU.  
  • Four consecutive kills, helped the Cougars extend their advantage to 19-15.  
  • MVNU secured the set 25-18 after a block on an attack from Joldersma.
