MARION, Ind. - The Indiana Wesleyan University athletic department has named
Evelyn Waymire as the Assistant Athletic Director for Recreation & Enrollment. Waymire brings a unique blend of expertise in admissions and athletics, making her an exceptional addition to the IWU Athletics leadership team.
"If we were to describe the perfect skillset to lead our enrollment efforts, partner well with admissions, and continue the rapid growth of both our varsity and club programs, it would be the one that Evelyn brings to us," said
Deane Webb, Director of Athletics. " Her knowledge of both the athletic recruiting processes as well as her considerable experience working in IWU Admissions will be vital for our future, and her experience working with students will serve her well as she leads our campus and surrounding community efforts in recreation and wellness."
In her new role, Waymire will oversee recreational programming to foster campus-wide engagement and wellness while collaborating with the Admissions Department to enhance recruitment efforts for prospective club student-athletes. Her extensive experience at IWU and her deep commitment to the university's Christ-centered mission will strengthen the integration of athletics and enrollment initiatives.
Waymire spent the 24-25 academic year as an academic advisor for IWU National & Global. The previous 13 years, Waymire served in IWU's Admissions Department, where she played a key role in recruiting and supporting prospective students, building strong relationships, and promoting the university's values. Concurrently, she has served as an assistant softball coach for the IWU Wildcats for the last 10 years, contributing to the team's success both on and off the field. Her coaching experience has honed her ability to mentor student-athletes, fostering their personal and athletic growth while emphasizing teamwork and resilience.
"I am thrilled to be back on the IWU-Marion campus," said
Evelyn Waymire. " IWU has played an important role in my life, both as a student and throughout my professional journey. It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to return to the main campus in a role that allows me to serve both current and prospective students, as well as contribute to campus recreation. I look forward to working with our coaching staff and campus partners as we step into new initiatives and begin to realize the next chapter that God has for our community."
Waymire is a 2011 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University's prestigious John Wesley Honors College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Work. She also holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University.
