SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan softball team lost a 10-2 decision to top-seeded Marian University Thursday afternoon in the Crossroads League Tournament.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• IWU broke through the scoreless contest in the top of the second inning. Courtney Thomas drew a lead-off walk and moved to second on a wild pitch with two down. Kamryn Buck's infield hit pushed her to third. After a passed ball allowed Buck to scamper to second base, Chloe Tragesser belted a two-RBI single to left field, plating Courtney Thomas and Buck.  
• The Knights answered the frame with an eight-run second inning of their own for a six-run advantage. 
• Marian added two runs in the fourth to make it 10-2.
• The Wildcats were unable to cut into the deficit and Marian took the game via run rule. 
• For the game, Buck had a pair of hits, including a double. Ella Phillips, Tragesser and Zoe Fountain all notched hits. Courtney Thomas registered a walk. Buck and Courtney Thomas each crossed home plate.  
• In the circle, Alyssa Wagner worked two innings. Alayna Thomas came in and threw the final two frames. She picked up a strikeout. 

NEXT TIME OUT

 

 

• The Wildcats return to action at the Crossroads League Tournament tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. to face either Spring Arbor or Taylor in an elimination game.
