  • Greg Vineyard ripped a one-out pitch to left field in the fourth and moved to second when Trevor Vojtkofsky was hit by a pitch. Gibson lifted a fly ball to right field as Vineyard scored, giving the team a 2-1 edge.
  • Taylor plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth stanza for a 4-2 lead.
  • IWU knotted the game in the sixth. Vojtkofsky registered a solo round-tripper over the right field fence. After Stavola was hit by a pitch and stole second, he raced home on Andrew Sinish's single to left field.
  • The Wildcats' offense got going in the seventh when Caleb Engelsman doubled down the right field line. After moving to third on a passed ball, Wiley drew a walk. Vineyard's single through the left side of the defense made it 5-4. Vojtkofsky followed it up with an RBI single to left field, driving in Wiley for a 6-4 margin, which proved to be more than enough as the bullpen closed the door on the Trojans.

  • Drue Young worked six innings to pick up the win. He gave up four runs, but only two were earned, on four hits with seven strikeouts. Cam LaFuze threw a scoreless seventh stanza while Will Eldridge tossed the final two innings for the save. Eldridge recorded two strikeouts.
