BASEBALL EXPLODES FOR 38 COMBINED RUNS IN DOUBLEHEADER WITH GOSHEN

MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan baseball team wrap up another series win in the Crossroads League, defeating Goshen twice on Saturday.. The Wildcats won the opener 20-5 and kept the bats rolling in game two with an 18-7 victory.

 GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • Goshen got on board first with one run in the top of the first. RBIs from Luke Roman and Nick Wiley gave IWU a one run lead in the botom of the inning.
  • The Wildcats added three runs in both the second and third innings before exploding for 11 in the 5th, including home runs from Darien Pugh and Nick WIley.
  • The MapleLeafs added a run in the sixth, but an RBI single from Jackson Mott scored Colin Yoder to give IWU their 20th run of the game.
  • Luke Roman went 4 for 5 with 4 RBIs for the game and Nick WIley went 3 for 4 with 6 RBIs and a home run.
  • Grayson Knight got the win, going 5 innings with 4 strikeouts and giving up 4 earned runs.
  • Gabe Stout earned his second save with 5 strikeouts in 2 innings of work.

 GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • The bats stayed hot in game two as IWU poured on 9 runs in the 1st inning.
  • Goshen scored two runs in the 3rd, but the Wildcats doubled their lead across the next three innings to stop any comeback attempt from the visitors.
  • Goshen added four runs in the sixth, but IWU finished off the series win after combining for 65 runs across the four game series.
  • Darien Pugh went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIS and QUinn Willard went 2 for 3 ith 4 RBIs.
  • Tate Warner earned his second win, going 5 innings with 8 strikeouts.
  • Brennan Morehead picked up the save with 3 strikeouts in his only innings.
