PENSACOLA, FL. - Indiana Wesleyan Women's Soccer fell to the No. 2 seeded William Carey Crusaders in the 2024 NAIA National Championship Round of 16, 2-0. The Wildcats battled hard against the highest remaining seed in the tournament. The first goal of the game came in the 36th minute as the Crusaders took a 1-0 lead. WCU came out of the half with intensity but IWU defended well. The Wildcats put on a lot of pressure in the second half but were unable to come away with a goal. William Carey scored again in the 87th minute to close the game.

WHAT HAPPENED

• WIlliam Carey scored in the 36th minute to take the lead before halftime.
• The Wildcats fought back and held their ground for most of the second half.
• WCU scored their second goal in the 87th minute to come away with the 2-0 win.

• 5: IWU picked up the pressure going from only two shots in the first half to 5 in the second half for 7 total.
• 4: It was an even battle of pressure as both teams ended with 4 corner kicks.
