NO. 9 VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP WEEKEND WITH TWO SWEEPS

FORT WAYNE, IND. - No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball wrapped up their mid-season tournament on Saturday by picking up two sweeps. In their first game of the day the Wildcats downed host Indiana Tech 25-16, 25-17, 25-14. They finished off the day by sweeping RIo Grande 25-11, 25-17, 25-18.

  • The Wildcats showed no fatigue following last nights 5-set battle, taking an early 15-10 lead. The Warriors never made a run and IWU held on for a 25-16 win.
  • Indiana Wesleyan took a quick 10-3 lead in the second set . This time Indiana Tech did respond, pulling within 4 points at 18-14. IWU used a 7-3 run the rest of the way to take a 2-0 lead.
  • The Wildcats used the momentum from the end of the second set to dominate the third set, holding a 9 point lead for most of the set.
  • Eva Joldersma led IWU with 13 kills
  • Jessica Ickes had 5 blocks.
  • Cadee Notter recorded 12 digs.
  • Abbigail Porter posted 34 assists.

  • Indiana Wesleyan stayed hot in their second game, jumping out to a 13-5 lead. RIo Grande couldn't stop the momentum as IWU won the set 25-11.
  • The Wildcats again took an early lead in the second set, but this time RG battled back and pulled within 2 points. The red and gray turned things around and grabbed a 2-0 lead.
  • Rio Grande took the lead early in se three, but IWU used a 14-6 run to create enough separation for a 25-18 win.
  • Marissa Mullins and Eva Joldersma had 11 kills each.
  • Camaya Murray had 4 aces.
  • Cadee Notter posted 20 digs.
  • Porter led the team with 31 assists.
