NO. 17 WOMEN'S SOCCER POWERS PAST GOSHEN, 2-0

GOSHEN, Ind. - No. 17 Women's soccer powered past Goshen College, 2-0. Jackie Norris scored in the 8th minute for the Wildcats to take the early 1-0 lead. IWU would take a 2-0 lead into halftime after Anna Pettitt scored her first goal of the year in the 45th minute. The Wildcats would keep the pressure on in the second half but neither team would score again. Indiana Wesleyan has now won three games in a row.

WHAT HAPPENED


 

  • Jackie Norris scored another goal to keep up her great season in the 8th minute to put IWU up early.
  • Anna Pettitt scored her first goal of the year assisted by Elisha Strawser in the 45th minute to give IWU the 2-0 lead going into halftime.
  • No goals were scored in the second half but IWU kept pressure on the Maple Leafs and only allowed three shots.

  • 3: IWU has now won three games in a row and have three conference wins on the year.
  • 27: The Wildcats peppered the Goshen defense all game registering 27 shots compared to Goshen's 5.
  • 7: Norris gained another goal to extend her team leading number to seven.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE

  • "Today was another good result on the road as we are continuing to work on moving the ball around to create opportunities," said Head Coach Daniel Seiffert. "We continue to have different players step up which has been a really cool thing to see and any road win in this league is definitely a positive. So we will enjoy this one tonight and now have a full week to really get better and take another stride forward. We are looking forward to getting better this week."
