NO. 7 VOLLEYBALL ENDS ROAD TRIP WITH 3-1 WIN OVER USF

FORT WAYNE, IND. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball wrapped up their two week road trip with a 3-1 victory over Saint Francis (Ind.) on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats have gone 6-0 since they last played in Luckey Arena. Four Wildcats hit double digit kills in the victory while Jessica Ickes fell just short of the mark with seven.

  • Indiana Wesleyan showed fatigue from their long road trip, trailing 14-11 before taking a timeout. Following the timeout they looked like they were on their way to taking set one with a 24-23 lead, but the Cougars rattled off 3 straight points to steal the first set 26-24.
  • Neither team could find an advantage early in set two with IWU taking a timeout up 10-9. The Wildcats slowly built up their lead the rest of the set before a 5-0 run gave them a 25-16 lead.
  • The red and gray used an 8-0 run to take a 14-7 lead in the third set. A late 3-0 run from Saint Francis forced an IWU timeout, but following the stoppage the Wildcats went on a 7-1 run for a 25-14 win.
  • Indiana Wesleyan left no doubt in set four, scoring the set's first 5 points and led by as much as 12 on their way to a 25-13 victory.
  • Eva Joldersma had a match high 20 kills on a 60% hit percentage. Marissa Mullins (11), Martina Demarchi (10) and Marin Sanchez (10) each had double digit kills.
  • Demarchi led the Wildcats with 5 blocks.
  • Cadee Notter led the way with 18 digs while Joldersma had 12.
  • Abbigail Porter recorded 55 assists.
