MARION, IND. - The No. 5 ranked Wildcats continued their unbeaten streak to open the 2023 season, taking down the Grace College Lancers on Wednesday night. IWU once again swept their opponent, winning their 29th straight set.

THE ESSENTIALS

MATCH VITALS

• IWU came out hot to start set one, taking a 13-6 lead to force a Grace timeout. Despite a late 5-0 run by the Lancers, the Wildcats cruised to a 25-16 victory in set one.
• After Grace used a 4-0 run to pull within 1 point at 12-11, IWU used a 6-0 run to take momentum on their way to a 25-15 win.
• The momentum carried into the final set at the Wildcats jumped out to a 7-2 lead before Grace took a timeout. The Lancers battled back to make the score 18-17 IWU, but Indiana Wesleyan used a 7-2 run to end the set, winning 25-19.
• Eva Joldersma led the offense with 15 kills while Marissa Mullins had 8.
• Abbigail Porter had a team high 40 assists.
• Cadee Notter led IWU with 17 digs. Martina Demarchi added 11 and Joldersma tallied 11.

LOOKING FORWARD

• IWU heads to Fort Wayne to take on the University of Saint Francis on Friday at 7pm.
