NO. 20 MEN'S SOCCER STAYS HOT AGAINST ROCHESTER FOR EIGHTH WIN

MARION, Ind. - No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan men's soccer scored plenty of goals to get their eighth win of the season after facing Rochester University at home. After a roaring first half from the attack, scoring four goals, the Wildcats were able to close the game out with a win, 6-3. With an 8-1 record to end non-conference play, IWU are off to their best start since 2014. The red and gray will stay at home to to begin Crossroads League play and face Marian University on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Fan are encouraged WEAR RED to support the Wildcats for a busy weekend in Marion!

WHAT HAPPENED


 

  • A quick goal from sophomore Brandon Nyagurungo assisted by sophomore Guzman Trigo in the 3rd minute began the Indiana Wesleyan lead. 
  • Guzman Trigo scored his first goal of the season in the 11th minute. 
  • The IWU attack caught fire as sophomore Jose Garcia tallies on his third goal of the season and Brandon Nyagurungo gets his second on the day in the 31st and 32nd minute. 
  • Indiana Wesleyan went into the half up 4-1. 
  • Brandon Nyagurungo slotted his hat trick into the net in the 68th minute, totaling 10 goals in nine games. 
  • Jose Garcia got his second goal of the day and his fifth of the season in the 71st minute, assisted by senior Giuseppe Santacroce.
