Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

NO. 14 WOMEN’S SOCCER DOMINATES AWAY FROM HOME AGAINST IU EAST

EATON, Ohio - No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer took their first win away from home after putting on an incredible display against Indiana University East. Despite taking time to settle in at the start of the first half, a cross from outside the box by junior Morgan Busick in the 37th minute saw sophomore Abbey Drahnak dribble around the defender and slot it in the bottom-left corner. Most of the IWU goals developed in the second half, with Sydney Brown scoring a rocket to the top left corner from outside the box in the 60th minute assisted by junior Macy Browning. A solo goal from Sydney Brown and an Aaliyah Denton assist for freshman Mariana Della Vecchia put the Wildcats to a staggering 4-0 victory. The Wildcats bring home a key shutout going into the weekend to face the No. 4-ranked University of the Cumberlands on Friday night at home.

SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE

  • "Tonight was a really good total team effort," said Daniel Seiffert, Head Women's Soccer Coach. "It took us a little while to figure out how to break down a very organized team, but I'm happy with how we responded and stayed patient and composed throughout the whole match. It was cool to see so many different players step up and compete all together for each other. We have another strong test this upcoming Friday, so we look forward to getting back to the training grounds tomorrow."
