MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan softball took the field on the campus of Mount Vernon Nazarene on Thursday against the host school for their first game of the Crossroads League Tournament. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead early, but a two-run bomb by the Cougars tied it up in the 6th inning. MVNU went up 4-2 in the 8th, but IWU was unable to respond in the bottom half of the inning.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• A Cougar error in the 3rd inning brought home the first run of the game to put IWU up 1-0.
• Ashton Whitman extended IWU's lead to 2-0 with an RBI single that same inning.
• MVNU tied the game with a two-run home run in the 6th inning.
• The Cougars scored the eventual game-winning runs with a bases-loaded single in the 8th inning.
• Elisa Koshy registered her 11th double of the season.
• Becca Wyatt went 2-3 with a run scored.
