MARION, IND. - Indiana Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field finished out the 2023 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on their home track with the men's team taking eighth place with 24 points and the women's team earning eleventh place with 22 points.
Princess Kara highlighted the final day of competitions with a 52.77m mark in the discus to claim the national title. This marks her second throwing championship of the year after earning the indoor shot put title.
Braden Sweet kicked off the day with an All-American finish in the 1500m race with a time of 3:53.30.
The Wildcats saw both
Steven Ott and
Charlie Young take All-American honors in the 800m race. Ott ran at a pace of 1:51.12 and Young was just behind with a time of 1:51.28.
