BASEBALL SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH HUNTINGTON

HUNTINGTON, IND. -  Indiana Wesleyan baseball got back in the win column on Thursday, splitting their doubleheader with Huntington. The Wildcats dropped game one 11-1, but rebounded in game two with an 8-3 victory.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • The Wildcats got on the board first with a Ty Mathews homer in the top of the 1st.
  • It was all Huntington the rest of the way, with the Foresters holding IWU to only 3 hits and 0 runs after the Mathews homerun.
  • Evan Fry and Grayson Knight combined for 6 strikeouts, 12 hits, and 10 earned runs.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • Lucas Goodin and Colby Jenkins both homered in the 3rd inning, giving IWU a 3-0 lead. Huntington got 2 runs back in the bottom of the 3rd.
  • The Foresters tied the game up with a run in the 4th.
  • Ty Mathews and Goodin scored on a 2 RBI single to left field in the 5th. Jeff Morton got in on the homerun action with a 3 run bomb later in the 5th, extending the Wildcat lead to 8-3.
  • Will Eldridge went 6 innings on the mound, striking out 10 and only giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
