NO. 22 SOFTBALL BOUNCES BACK AGAINST GOSHEN TO EARN DOUBLEHEADER SPLIT

GOSHEN, Ind. - No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan softball began the second half of their 14-game road trip on Tuesday night with a doubleheader against Goshen. The Wildcats rallied to force extra innings in Game 1 before falling 5-6 in the 9th inning. IWU responded in Game 2 with an offensive explosion of 15 hits and three home runs to win 12-4 in 6 innings.

  • IWU climbed their way back into the game and a Makenna Waddell home run in the 7th inning forced extras.
  • A walk-off single by Goshen in the 9th inning stole the win, 6-5.
  • Waddell's home run was her first of the season.
  • Jennah Yost tallied a stolen base, giving her 131 in her career and just 5 away from the program record.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • After two scoreless innings, IWU poured on 12 runs in 4 innings to earn the run-rule win.
  • The Wildcats' 15 hits tied their second-highest total of the season.
  • Elisa Koshy hit two home runs in the game, giving her nine on the season to lead the Crossroads League.
  • Zoe Fountain showed off her speed with an in-the-park home run, her first of the year.
  • Makenna Waddell went 3-4 with two RBI's and a run scored.
  • Emma Etter-Cox secured her 10th win of the season after holding Goshen to three earned runs in 5 innings.
