NO. 22 SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH SAINT FRANCIS

MARION, Ind. - No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan softball began their 14-game road trip on Tuesday with a doubleheader in Fort Wayne against Saint Francis. The Wildcats tied their second-highest hit total in a 9-5 win in Game 1. USF scored three runs in the 6th inning of Game 2 to tie it up 5-5 before a walk off double in the bottom of the 7th stole the victory from the Wildcats, 6-5.

  • USF responded with four runs over the next two inning for the 4-3 lead.
  • IWU tallied two runs in each of the final three innings to secure the victory.
  • Five Wildcats connected for two hits in the game.
  • Elisa Koshy hit her team-high fifth home run of the season.
  • Sadie Harding finished with three RBI's off two hits with two runs scored.
  • Alyssa Wagner pitched another complete game to improve to 14-3 with eight strikeouts.

  • Sadie Harding got things rolling with a lead-off home run, her first of the season.
  • IWU seemed to be in control with a 5-2 lead after five innings before USF tied it up with three runs in the 6th.
  • After two walks in the 7th put a runner on second base, the Cougars hit a walk-off double to bring in the winning run.
  • Jennah Yost went 3-4 with two runs scored.
