RODE ADDS CRISP TO STAFF AS RUNNING BACKS COACH AND SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR

MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan football is excited to announce the hiring of Spencer Crisp as the new running backs coach and special teams coordinator for the Wildcats. He comes to IWU after spending the past two seasons at the University of Indianapolis as the running backs coach. While in Indianapolis, Crisp coached a two-time All-American and won the 2022 GLVC conference championship with a 9-2 overall record.

Prior to his time at UIndy, Crisp kicked off his college coaching career at Olivet Nazarene University as a Graduate Assistant responsible for the running back unit. Spencer helped ONU to an undefeated regular season and MSFA championship in the 2020-21 season. He led a pair of all-conference running backs, while the Tigers earned a spot in the NAIA playoffs for the first time in over two decades.

As a student-athlete, he was a four-year letterwinner at Taylor, racking up more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and twice earning conference player of the week honors.

"Spencer will bring incredible energy and a focused attention to detail to our football program," said Andrew Rode, Head Football Coach. "He is a great relationship builder and will lead our men with great character and a faith in Jesus Christ."

Coach Crisp graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education from Taylor University in 2019. He also earned a master's degree in Business Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in 2021.
