MARION, Ind.. - Indiana Wesleyan baseball picked up a thrilling victory in their home opener on Wednesday. After IU-South Bend knotted the game up at 8-8, Jeff Morton hit a two-run homer to give the Wildcats a walk off victory.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• The Titans got things started in the top of the 1st with a solo homerun.
• A Nick Wiley single in 2nd scored Ty Mathews and Caleb Engelsman, giving IWU a 2-1 lead. The WIldcats poured on the runs in the second inning as WIley scored on an error, Greg Vineyard scored on a Luke Roman double, and a Lucas Goodin homerun scored MJ Stavola and Luke Roman, extending the lead to 7-1.
• IUSB added runs in the 3rd and 6th innings cutting the lead to 7-3. Stavola scored in the 6th on a Goodin single before the Titans put 5 runs on the board in the 7th and 8th innings.
• With the score tied at 8-8 Jeff Morton stepped into the box and delivered for the WIldcats in their home opener, sending a ball over the fence that scored Jake Thompson and gave IWU a 10-8 lead.
• Caleb Engelsman recorded 2 stolen bases while Colby Jenkins, Ty Mathews, and Greg Vineyard each had 1.
• Jake Engelkes earned the win on the mound, striking out 1, and giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits.
