WILDCATS DROP 2 GAMES TO NO. 6 FAULKNER

MONTGOMERY, ALA. - Indiana Wesleyan baseball dropped both games of their doubleheader against No. 6 Faulkner University on Friday. The Eagles erased a 7-1 deficit in game one to take down the Wildcats. Faulkner took game two 7-1 as IWU was held scoreless through 8 innings, before Jeff Morton hit a solo homerun in the top of the 9th.

  • A Ty Mathews single in the fourth scored Caleb Engelsman giving IWU a 2-1 lead. After Luke Roman was hit by pitch, Quinn Willard sent a ball over the fence extending the lead to 5-1.
  • Nick Wiley recorded his 3rd homerun of the season in the 6th inning, also scoring Jeff Morton and making the lead 7-1.
  • The Eagles scored 2 runs in the 6th, 7th, and 9th innings and 1 run in the 8th while holding IWU scoreless to complete the comeback.
  • Drue Young say 6 innings of action on the mound fanning 9 batters and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. Evan Fry and Brock Buckley also saw time on the mound, combining for 3 strikeouts, 4 hits, and 5 runs.
