KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana Wesleyan football senior running back
Dederrian Williams was named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is his first NAIA Player of the Week honor of the season and the second of his career.
"Tay played really well Saturday night against Taylor," said
Andrew Rode, Head Football Coach. "He played tough and physical, but he ran behind an offensive line that played outstanding as well! Really proud of the work and progress that group is making in our offense."
Williams was dominant on offense in No. 4 IWU's 42-17 win over Taylor. He set a new program record with 288 rushing yards and 16.0 yards a carry. This marked the 3rd-most rushing yards in a single game in Mideast League history. Two of his three touchdowns on the day were for 60+ yards.
In Williams' two games against Taylor as a Wildcat, he has totaled 499 rushing yards, 51 receiving yards, nine touchdowns, and two NAIA Player of the Week awards.
The Wildcats return home to host Madonna for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
