DEFENSE DOES IT AGAIN

  • Clayton Mosher, Keenan Hicks and Chris Satterfield each recorded an interception in the victory over Siena Heights. Mosher returned his for five yards while Hicks had a two-yard return. Satterfield grabbed his interception in the endzone. IWU currently leads the NAIA with 14 interceptions through five games this year. The defense has limited opponents all season long with different student-athletes stepping up. Last week was just another example of how the Wildcats have thrived this year.

LEVI LOVES
SETTING RECORDS

  • For the second consecutive week, Levi Tidwell put forth a tremendous effort. In the win over Siena Heights, Tidwell hauled in 13 passes for 237 yards and a pair of scores. This is just a week after he tallied 10 catches for 190 yards and a score in the win over Roosevelt. Tidwell was honored with both the conference and national offensive player of the week awards.

AT THE HELM

  • Head Coach Andrew Rode continues to thrive at the helm of the program during his first year. The offense is clicking on all cylinders as Levi Tidwell has posted back-to-back school-record performances, while the defense forced multiple turnovers last week once again.

  • Xander Stokes directs the offense. He is hitting 63.3% of his attempts. His 1,243 yards and 14 scores lead the conference, and his four interceptions are the lowest of any MSFA Mideast quarterback that has played 5 games.
  • Levi Tidwell leads the MSFA with 555 receiving yards and has hauled in a team-best six touchdowns. His 111 yards per game rank 5th in the NAIA. Caden Currie has 175 yards, while Tristen Hayes has 160 yards receiving.
  • Dederrian Williams leads the MSFA Mideast with 492 rushing yards on 97 attempts, and he has found the endzone four time. Isaiah Gibbs has 136 yards on 38 carries with a pair of touchdowns.

  • Ja Thomas leads the rushing attack with 5.5 yards a carry. He has three scores and has scampered for 208 yards on the year.

  • Aven Jones leads the MSFA with 59 total tackles, including a team-high 31 solo tackles. Jacob Hockett is second on the team with 39 tackles. Hockett also leads the team with a pair of forced fumbles.

WHAT TO WATCH

  • With so many options, it's tough to tell. The defense has been outstanding this season, but each week it seems as though Levi Tidwell is on the verge of setting another record.
  • Look for a balanced attack that features a slew of receivers as well as multiple backs recording several carries in the contest. Additionally, look for the defense to try and create a short field for Stokes and his explosive offense.
