HELENA, MT. – No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan Women's Basketball team got the season off to a great start as they defeated No. 6 Carroll away from home on Friday, with a final score of 62-60. The fourth quarter was saw 4 lead changes between teams. After being down with 46 seconds to go, Maddie Lawrence and Jade Nutley both knocked down clutch free throws to get four straight points from the charity stripe and tie the game. After a quick layup from Lawrence with nine seconds to go, the Wildcats took their first victory of the season. Nutley led the Wildcats in points with 12 points along with 2 rebounds and an assist.

WHAT HAPPENED

• IWU started off the first quarter with a quick and efficient 10-2 lead. 
• IWU finished the first quarter with an 18-8 lead, and finished the half with a 6-point lead (30-24). 
• After four lead changes, the Wildcats closed out a very close fourth quarter with the victory.  

NOTABLE NUMBERS

• 74: IWU led for 74% of the game.
• 17: The Wildcats shot from the free-throw line well with 17 free throws on 20 attempts. 
• 22: The red and gray had 22 bench points.
• 20: The Wildcats had 20 points off of turnovers. IWU forced Carroll into 22 turnovers.
