MARION, Ind. - The 2023 New Year is off to a great start for Indiana Wesleyan Men's Basketball, as the Wildcats knocked off No. 4 Grace College and picked up 6'3 NCAA D1 Transfer DJ Moore from Liberty University.
"DJ is a people elevator," said
Greg Tonagel, Head Men's Basketball Coach. "Whatever situation he finds himself in he makes those around him better. That's why winning has followed him his entire career. I'm excited for DJ to be a part of our culture because he has a lot to add."
Moore comes to IWU after just one season in 2021-22 with the Flames, appearing in 24 games and netted a season high of nine points against Carver College!
Moore prepped at Worthington Christian in Worthington, Ohio Moore, where he ranks No. 5 in Worthington Christian program history, with 1,323 career points in just three seasons. Moore was a First Team All-State, First Team All-District, and a First Team All-Conference selection in his final season with Worthington Christian. He was also named the District 10 Player of the Year, and the MSL-Ohio Player of the Year as he led Worthington Christian to the Division III State Championship. Moore averaged 15.3 points per game as a sophomore and was named First Team All-State while helping lead the Warriors to the District 10 Finals.
"For me, it was the right choice!" said Moore. "The coaching staff is great, the players are even better. Great people all around! I have always had great teams with great culture, which really made it easy for me to choose. Most importantly I get to grow in my faith day in and out here as well! Something I'm looking forward to!"
Moore has three seasons of full eligibility remaining.
